1. Soak it in water thoroughly. When it gets wet, it will swell and expand. (If it is used without being wet, it will absorb a lot of liquid foundation/product)

2. Apply the liquid foundation/product to your face and use the sponge to spread the product in a tapping motion. OR apply the product directly on the sponge and dab onto face directly.
