Review Blogpost by @luluwendyy: Rovectin Lotus Water Cream and Barrier Repair Face & Body Cream

I was very excited when La Cosmetique offered to collaborate with me, when Rovectin launching in Australia. I’ve heard so many good things about this brand and curious about trying their best selling products.

If you’ve been following me on my Instagram @luluwendyy, I’m big fan of k-beauty and Asian skincare products; I love discovering new skincare brands and always looking for a clean beauty product that used only natural and minimal ingredients to experiment it on my dry and sensitive skin.

I’m also concerned about the brand’s philosophy, values, and sustainable beauty practices and how they care about the ingredients they put into the products.

I take it slow by only trying what works for me one brand at the time to give full throughout experiences. Let’s jump straight into it.

Morning Routine

I start my day by cleansing my face with a gentle cream cleanser, and then I use Skin Essentials Activating Treatment Lotion as toner/essence, then Lotus Water Cream as moisturizer, followed by sunscreen if I prefer a quick routine.

Rovectin Clean Lotus Water Cream [Review]

It’s a bestselling product from Rovectin. It’s a lightweight, extra gentle moisturizer from Rovectin’s Clean Line. It not only hydrates but helps you achieve clearer, younger looking skin as well. It’s formulated with only clean ingredients sourced from nature for sensitive and dry skin.

Key Ingredients: only consist of 23 essential ingredients!

  • 75% Lotus water Extract- listed as nelumbo nucifera
  • Kaempferol - a well-known antioxidant helps restore balance and has anti-aging properties.

Packaging: fold sealed in a 60ml squeeze tube. This cream also included with the cutest stickers inside the box for eco-friendly packaging and to personalize the tube. How cute, right?

Texture: gel-cream like texture that burst like water. No scent detected

What I like:

  • Fragrance free
  • 100% vegan, hypoallergenic, toxin-free, cruelty-free, eco-friendly
  • 100% free from parabens, artificial colorants, artificial fragrances, mineral oil, and steroids.
  • pH of 6.5~7.5

My Thoughts:

I can see myself using this all year round and it became a staple in my morning routine. Upon application, this glides well onto my skin beautifully like silk and it takes a while to absorb. It didn’t break my hypersensitive skin out, and provided my skin with enough hydration.

Suitable for all skin types especially for those who are dealing with dryness and dullness.

It’s a great moisturizer for the summer, but maybe not enough hydration for colder months in Melbourne.  In my opinion, if you have super dry skin, you will need to apply a thicker layer for added moisture, or layering toner/essence to receive full hydration. I appreciate the fact it helps balance skins oil content which can help soothe acne and with consistent use, give the skin a more even healthy surface & barrier.

The only downside is that it comes with a twist open lid which can be less convenient compared to a click open lid, but it doesn’t stop me to repurchase this cream.

In my night routine:

After double cleansing to remove all the impurities, I cleanse my skin and pamper myself with Dr. Mask Aqua Sheet Mask, and lock in the moisture with this multi-use Skin Essentials Barrier Repair Face & Body Cream.

Skin Essentials Barrier Repair Face & Body Cream [Review]

Key Ingredients:

  • Astaxantin: A powerful antioxidant—550 times stronger than Vitamin E.
  • Ceramide: This compound mimics naturally-occurring skin lipids to strengthen your moisture barrier.
  • Panthenol: This improves hydration and reinforces the skin's natural barrier.
  • Peach kernel oil: Peach kernel oil provides long-lasting hydration and helps rejuvnate wrinkles.

Packaging: comes in 175ml tube.

Texture: Soft cream texture with no scent detected, slightly pinkish colour.

My Thoughts:

This is a new version that contains higher content Panthenol, as their named it can be used for both Face & Body. It feels thicker than the Lotus Water Cream; it’s so creamy and spreadable, perfect to use in winter month. I love that it delivery of highly concentrated nutrients directly to the skin for easy absorption without leaving behind a sticky or greasy film.

I do suffer eczema on my body, and this cream doesn’t suffocating my skin or makes my skin itchy like other cream I have tried. In fact, I love how it defence against common sources of dry, damaged, or irritated skin and safe for children and pregnant women.

Personally, I’d enjoy using this more for my body than face cream. It’s very versatile and can be used as hand cream too. With consistent usage for 1 week, I’ve noticed a slight improvement on my skin; my body feels moisturised, smooth and plump.

PAO is 12 months after opened, and gladly this 175ml tube will last me for up to 3 months if I use it daily for my body too.

As always, remember that every person’s skin and skin type is different so what might work for me might not work for you. Doing a patch-test is always a good idea before trying a new product. Have fun and enjoy skin experimenting. Love x
