K-beauty Haul: Rovectin Skin Essentials Dr. Mask Cica and Aqua (Anni - Staff Edition)

Hello everyone! In this blogpost, I’m going to share my review on the sheet masks from the Korean skincare brand, Rovectin. First, let me tell you about my skin type. I have combination skin where my T-zone gets oily throughout the day and my cheek area are sometimes dry. I also breakout very easily.

About Rovectin:

Rovectin is an up-and-coming Korean Beauty brand. This brand focuses on creating products with clean ingredients to gently repair damage and calm the skin. All their products use high quality, hypoallergenic ingredients and formulated without fragrances, artificial colourants, parabens, or other harmful ingredients, which is suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin!

Before I review the sheet masks, I want to share some Rovectin sample products that I received.

Rovectin Skin Essentials Activating Treatment Lotion

Key Ingredients and Features

The Skin Essentials Activating Treatment Lotion is a hypoallergenic, lightweight watery lotion that intensively moisturises the skin. It is enriched with 7 types of Hyaluronic acid to moisturise the skin intensively, Papaya fruit extract to gently exfoliate the skin, Caffeine to firm skin and reduce puffiness, Vitamin E to smooth and nourish the skin, Niacinamide to brighten the skin and minimize the appearance of large pores and Aqua Cell Activator to boost skin moisture and firmness. It contains clean ingredients that is gentle for the skin, perfect for all skin types including sensitive skin.

Packaging

I received the sample size, but La Cosmetique does sell the full size 180ml. The product is packed in a hard plastic, see through bottle. The bottle is clean and minimalistic which I love!

Texture and Scent

The texture of the lotion is thick, almost gel like but it is lightweight and watery, making it very easy to spread and does not feel heavy on the skin. It also absorbs quickly into the skin and does leave a sticky finish but goes away once completely dried. Small amount of the lotion is enough for the whole face!

The lotion has no scent which is great for sensitive skins!

Price

At La Cosmetique it is $38 for 180ml. For a good lotion with clean ingredients the pricing of this lotion is affordable.

Performance and Rating

I use this lotion after cleansing and before putting on a sheet mask. I love how it leaves my skin well hydrated and soft. With this lotion I only need to use a small amount to cover my entire face. After a few uses I do see skin texture became smoother and my pores are smaller. Best of all using this lotion didn’t make me breakout!  I give this lotion 5/5.

Rovectin Skin Essentials Cica Care Balm

Key Ingredients and Features

The Cica Care Balm is a lightweight, Vaseline like consistency, hydrating balm that is enriched with Calamine, Centella Asiatica and Madecassoside to soothe, reduce inflammation and reduce the appearance of acne and dark spots. It also contains an active Barrier Repair complex which helps to strengthen the skin barrier and hydrates sensitive skin.  This balm is perfect for troubled skin!

Packaging

I received the sample size, but La Cosmetique does sell the full size 40ml. The product comes is a clean and simple white tube with a screw top lip. The product was easy to squeeze out of the tube.

Texture and Scent

The texture of the balm is thick, Vaseline like but absorbs into the skin very quickly. It is very easy to spread. I love how it doesn’t leave a sticky feeling on skin. The colour of the balm is not pure white (you might not be able to see it in the photo), it does have a faint pink hue to it.  It has a cooling sensation when applied to the skin and leaves a matte finish that is not drying at all and keeps your skin hydrated throughout the day.

This balm does state no fragrance on the tube but however it does contain lavender oil, so it has a very light fresh scent that is not overwhelming and did not irritate my skin causing more breakouts.

Price

At La Cosmetique it is $34 for 40ml which is a reasonable price.

Performance and Rating

This will have to be one of my favourite acne treatment creams, I used it for one night and I could see my pimples were less inflamed and redness on face was slightly reduced. The next morning when I woke out my skin was still soft and looked healthier. I love how this balm did not clog my pores causing more breakout. I use this product on area that are irritated and paired it with my day cream/ night cream. Visible results! I give this product 5/5!

Rovectin Skin Essentials Dr. Mask Aqua and Cica

Key Ingredients and Features

There are two types (Aqua and Cica) that aims for different skin concerns.

The Aqua mask provides deep hydrating and visibly plumps the skin to create a healthy and younger appearance. It is enriched moisturising ingredients including 7 kinds of Hyaluronic Acids, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) and Panthenol (Vitamin B5), Natural Caffeine and papaya fruit extract which gently removes dead skin cells without irritation.

The Cica mask helps to soothe irritated or reddened skin and reduce blemishes. It is enriched with anti-inflammation ingredients including Centella Asiatica, Madecassoside, Calamine and Heartleaf extract. It also contains BHA which helps gently exfoliate the skin surface and pores, preventing excessive sebum build up.

Packaging

Each box comes with 5 individually packaged sheet mask with a clean, simple yet pretty design. Each packet is made from paper material making it easy to peel open and recyclable friendly!

Texture and Scent

The masks are soft and thin. Can be gently stretched to fit your face shape. It fitted very well on my face and does not slip off. Each sheet mask is soaked in a generous amount of moisturising essence. The texture of the essence is almost gel like, and it absorbs into the skin quite fast. There were plenty of leftover essence in the packet where I applied onto my neck (you can apply to your shoulder, arm, or hands too!).

The masks are fragrance free, no scent at all, making it safe for sensitive skins! The Aqua mask did leave a sticky/tacky feeling on the skin which I normally do not like but the stickiness does get better once it dries. The Cica mask did also leave a sticky/tacky feeling but not as sticky as the Aqua mask.

Price

It is $25 a box containing 5 pieces at La Cosmetique which is a decent price for mask with ingredient that are effective and clean.

Performance and Rating

These mask works well leaving my skin looking hydrated, plump, and healthy! I personally prefer the Cica mask as it helped to soothe the redness on my face. After one use the results are instant and visible. I will give these masks 4.5/5.
